OUR STORY

Organizers

We are young and active members of Rotaract clubs in Slovenia, youth programs of the Rotary nonprofit organization, and various companies.

The first idea for the Summer School: The Path to Greatness was conceived in 2018 when the then-members of the Rotaract Club Ljubljana 25 realized that young people in school are not learning the skills that can help them in everyday life and especially in finding their purpose in life.

Therefore, they decided to impart knowledge to young people in a free and friendly manner, equipping them with skills that are not taught in schools and that they themselves wished they had learned during their high school years.

Since then, the project has grown and expanded, and the Summer School: The Path to Greatness is now conducted by five different Rotaract clubs across Slovenia

Meet them!

Rotaract Club Ljubljana 25

Rotaract Club Ljubljana 25 is a voluntary charitable organization that is part of the Rotary International family. It brings together young people aged 19 to 30 with the aim of implementing charitable projects, organizing events, campaigns, and other activities to improve the lives of individuals and the broader community.

The club was founded on May 22, 2015, and initially had 18 members. During its operation, we have organized dozens of charitable projects, various social events, collaborated with clubs abroad, and hosted international students. Additionally, every year for a good cause, we join forces with our sponsoring club, Rotary 25, to co-organize sports tournaments as part of the “ZATO! Pomagam” project.

Rotaract Club Ljubljana Feniks

Rotaract Club Ljubljana Feniks was founded in 2013. We have many active members who socialize both at meetings and outside of them. We are a group of friends, not just fellow members, which is reflected in the well-executed events and the friendly atmosphere at the meetings.

We are always ready to socialize and help those in need. We operate on the principle of “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” – Gandhi

Rotaract Club Novo mesto

The club regularly meets and organizes various projects and events to contribute to a better society. Among our main activities is the Charity Basket collection campaign, where we personally donate various food and hygiene supplies to socially disadvantaged families. We organize charitable events such as Crazy Christmas Sweater Parties, Board Game Nights, and Live Music Evenings featuring local young musicians. The proceeds from all events are combined with the proceeds from larger charitable projects. We also volunteer with local organizations and projects to improve the environment.

Rotaract Club Kranj

We are the only Rotaract club in the Gorenjska region, and in our activities, we aim to unite young people, encourage collaboration, connection, and development among members, while giving back to society through our charitable projects.

Our activities are primarily focused on organizing fun events for young people and environmental initiatives. For the purposes of fundraising, we collaborate with organizations in the field of social security to support better opportunities for young people and socially disadvantaged individuals and families.

We joined the Path to Greatness: Summer School project in 2023, and it has since become the largest project of our club, to which our members dedicate a lot of energy and involvement.

Global Shapers Community Ljubljana

Global Shapers Ljubljana, as a member of the global network of Global Shapers under the auspices of the World Economic Forum, brings together young members from various backgrounds characterized by enthusiasm and passion for creating a positive impact in society. They come from fields such as entrepreneurship, law, science, media, and politics. Together, they strive for a common vision: to establish the Ljubljana Hub as a platform connecting young changemakers in the city and to be the voice of the youth. Their projects serve the main mission: to contribute to the development of youth leadership, build a strong network of changemakers through high-value events, and cultivate a positive impact in society through Hub activities and collaboration with local associations and NGOs.
